2010 ARRL August UHF Contest
This was my first contest ever. There was much to learn from the equipment setup, testing, operating, and breakdown. The operators tha I worked with showed me all about operating at these high frequencies. I had a chance to do some roving myself, however I need much practice. I appreciate leaning the differences between SSB and FM and the need to pick out a call sign in the distant noise. My partner W6YLZ was an outstanding mentor that kept me learning to do the correct thing quickly. This was a fast paced event that required operators with excellent skills. I will be there' (with the skills), some day. Meanwhile I need to listen and practice. Thank you everybody on our team for your good company and professionalism.
