2010 ARRL September VHF Contest

09/13/2010 | KB0HH

The contest started with a whirlwind of rovers.  We had 2 operators on Saturday in addition to the cook who was smoking hog and cooking the famous Bunkhouse Beans.  It takes 4 ops in our station to be fully covered on the bands.  Sunday brought another op and the cook didn't cook.  Rats! Sandwiches and leftovers!  Sorry guys, I was going to smoke a brisket!

The bands opened up with some delightful tropo on Sunday morning at 5:00 a.m. working from Dm79 west, EM64 east, EM10 south, and EN41 to the NE.  That was a great tropo Sunday morning!  Thanks guys for getting up early!  The propagation then dropped to a negative level Sunday afternoon until near the end of the contest and the whirwind started again!

We had no tornadoes, no range fires, no flooding, no broken equipment,  just good times!  Thanks to all for the Q's
