2010 ARRL November Sweepstakes (CW)
Although I really enjoy CW, it's always been a challenge for me. So, I try to never miss CW Sweeps. It's a ton of fun and really helps you keep up your skills. It's so great to hear the bands packed with excellent CW operators. I hope that mode never dies. My goals this year were a sweep and 500 Q's. I'm primarily a S&P operator, running low power unassisted and a W5GI wire antenna with a tin ear. So, for me, that's a good level of achievement. Wound up with 487 in 78 Sections. Missed Yukon and Idaho. Never heard either. I retired last year and relocated to NC from NJ (WA2S) and was recently privileged to be accepted in the Potomac Valley Radio Club, a great group. Adding my modest total to their results was an added bonus. Thanks to all for another wonderful event. I'll reach my goal next year for sure. I'm attaching a picture at the end of the contest. That's the right way to finish--a key in one hand and a glass of wine in the other. 73 Marc
