2011 ARRL January VHF Sweepstakes

01/26/2011 | K0MHC

The goal of this rove was to shake down my latest rover configuration for a "limited" rover-in-a-rack (see blog) and check out the grids to the west of Kerrville, TX (DM90 and DL99). I found a few new, good operating locations and used a few of the average, older locations. While propagation seemed to be better the number of stations active took a hit during the football games. Most of the limited rover equipment worked OK but, I forgot the extension cord for my CW keyer. Next year we'll definitely get the dish bands up and running for this event from 8 grids. Thanks fo the fixed stations who attempted to follow me around the Texas Hill Country.

You can visit my rover blog here for more information on the "rover-in-a-box": http://k0mhc.blogspot.com/

Rover Warning: "Batteries and some assembly required!"
