2011 ARRL June VHF Contest
Was Single Op High Power 6M only for this contest. Started at the end of a nice opening into the midwest and upper east Coast / Great Lakes areas from DM15 on Sat. I had a nice run about an hour long early in the afternoon on Sat and then the band faded until another nice opening around 0000z for a short while and then sporadic short lived openings rest of Sat afternoon and early evening. Sunday seemd to start out better with a nice opening acroos the midwest up into New England into FN38/39 from DM15. Had another nice run Sunday midday and then the band folded up and basically spotty the rest of the contest. Finished with 289 Q's and 147 grids. Hopefully I will do well in the standings again this year.
One strange observation was even during the dead band lulls I could almost always hear VA6AN from DO42. Sometimes he was the only one I could hear even with a 6M7JHV (7el) at 40 feet.
73 and thanks to all who worked me. If you need a DM15 QSL, I'm happy to provide you one with SASE. Also contest log uploaded to LOTW.
