2011 ARRL Field Day
The Delaware Amateur Radio Association (DELARA) has been operating our Field Days from the beautiful Scioto Park and Nature area located here in Delaware, Ohio since 2006. We had a great Field Day with the exception of the interference problem which was resolved by 'station relocation' (in other words we rolled the 'canned ham' to a different spot. Wouldn't be FD without something like that happening!
We were 4A with 2 CW and 2 Phone, VHF and GOTA station. We also have a pretty elaborate information booth. We operate as K8ES with our GOTA station using the call of W8JK. We dedicated our Field Day to the Public Safety Workers (Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS & 911 workers) and invited them to our picnic and were very happy to see many of them show up. We have a great bunch of people, and we had great weather!
We had some new hams show up, we also had a few people interested in becoming a ham, and we are always happy to help them out!
Looking forward to hearing all of you next year!
