2011 ARRL Field Day

06/28/2011 | AD1T

There is nothing like Field day in New England, you never know what the WX or band conditions may be like.

We ran the full gamut of both at our Surry NH location....From pouring rain on Friday nite, to breaks in the clouds for Saturday morning setup..to T-storms Saturday evening, thick fog Sunday early morning, to finally seeing the Sun on Sunday afternoon.

After the late start we got,and several disconnects from the rollingT-storms, AD1T was finally able to get some good runs in Saturday evening,as the bands were open everywhere...

Randy, N1KWF,our CW guru, was able to whip out 400+ cw Q's in no

time, And the rest of us helped out with just over 400+ SSB Q's and 50+ digital Q's...not bad considering the late start from the rain

and the times we had to shut down from the T-storm activity.

Lots of fun,and lots of highlites, and lots of good food!!

Best part was seeing some long time club members

come up and help with setup and take down,Thanks!!

It was nice having the NH SM, Al, K1AKS,drop by our muddy field on Sunday morning.....(Thanks Al!!)

and it was nice to get a couple of youths on

the air for their first Field Day experiance

..and finally,it was nice to have the picturesque view of Mt Monadnock from our field on a Sunny Sunday afternoon as we were taking down.

Already looking forward to next year...
