Due to the wildfires in Arizona, my favorite FD club's usual spot and in fact the entire forest was closed at the last minute. I decided to not join the club at the
alternate location, the yard of a member's mountain summer home, and instead
picked a remote spot in a less flammable forest. I operated 1B - single-op, CW, QRP, battery, wire antenna only. Made 340 QSOs on the 5 HF bands. FD site: 34.39353N, 111.4051W grid DM44hj in the Coconino National forest, north of and uphill from Payson, AZ.
