2011 ARRL June VHF Contest

07/04/2011 | KE3HT/R

Rovers are very subject to the weather. The weather was against me all the way. I did not do so well this year but I had fun! Completely redesigned the roof rack to make it easier for me to get a nice level dish. I also proved out a new dish feed for 3gig and 5gig. Worked pretty well. Wind and a t-storm stopped me from operating at two sites. Actually could not even raise my antennas at FN12. Found some better gas prices so I was happy I went out. Found a new station to work this contest, K3EOD, who did a good job under the weather conditions. 6 foot dishes are very sensitive to wind and pointing over 250 miles gets touchy.
