2011 ARRL Field Day
VE3DC is the call of the Hamilton Amateur Radio Club. Besides Field Day, you will hear us on the air for Radio Amateurs of Canada's Canada Day, CQ WW Contest, RAC Winter Contest, CQ WW 160m contest, Ontario QSO Party, and maybe more.
This year we were in a new spot again at the Devil's Punch Bowl Conservation Area in Stoney Creek, Ontario. This is all part of the Greater Hamilton Area so our coordinator for Field Day, Dan VA3DJ decided to try this new on the brow location. It turned out to be a great area for Ham Radio and many visitors come by. We are located near a landmark that has been there before I was a kid (many years ago). It is a well lit cross and below the cross is an observation deck to look out over the city at Lake Ontario and on a clear day you can also see Toronto, Ontario with their landmark the CN Tower.
We had fun at this new site and are thinking of returning again next year. Thanks to all that worked us on Field Day. Hope you all made it in the log OK. 73 till next year Rick VE3BK
