Murphy struck while trying to get the dipole in the trees. The surgical tubing on my 8 year old slingshot gave out.  Then after getting the center support string just where I wanted, the next shot (for the dipole's back leg) got tangled and I had to re-string the spinning reel.  Unfortunately the line from my other spinning reel's was too short, then my 3rd spinning reel's line was too heavy... so I just got out the open face Garcia and launched the lead weight right where I wanted it - about 4 hours after starting...  It was fun to get on 10 meters. 1st time in years.  Ultimately made 165 contacts on 5 bands.  Used a new 800 Watt 2-stroke generator so I also went ahead and went up to 50 watts RF for the 1st time in a decade or more.  I'll probably go back to QRP and battery power next year to reduce the electrical and acoustical noise levels.  Copied the FD bulletin on RTTY for the first time.  Great fun.  73, -Ed, WG5F-  1B OK
