2011 ARRL Field Day
A long time ago, I wanted to buy an amplifier...what was I thinking? Operating 1E battery power running QRP just keeps getting more and more gratifying. Improving from one year to the next is my goal...through station mods and operating habits, I keep trying to be a better amateur radio operator. This year, I made almost 100 more Q's than last year and earned more bonus points to boot. Hopefully, next year, I'll be solar powered.
Thanks to all of the stations that heard my QRP signal. Thanks to K2QY who helped me tune my new homebrew 80m shortened vertical - which added 30 Q's to the total - a couple weeks prior to FD. A special thank you to the ARRL for their leadership in helping us all make ham radio the great hobby that it is.
72/73,
