Though I was not able to run for the whole six hours, I did manage to get in over four, more than three more than the last RR, and my points show it.  So I have made a few enhancements compared to last Aprils contest.  I planned for and devoted much more time to the contest.  I learned from some Elmer’s, including Ham Nation on what works and what does not in a contest, and was more persistent in calling CQ.
I have quite the anticipation as to how I did compared with my fellow rookies. This is a great "sport" of which I hope to be a notable athlete.  And as with all athletes, I know I need more practice time, so I hope to work at least one more contest before December’s Rookie Roundup – CW contest, including the California QSO Party in October, and ARRL’s 10 Meter Contest the weekend before.
