2011 ARRL November Sweepstakes (Phone)

GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!! Where is NNJ when I needed them? I spent many hours searching for NNJ, and heard them a few times making QSOs with other stations and then leaving the frequency, but I could not get them to hear me. NWT was simple compared to NNJ. I tried all bands 160-10 meters.  I heard and worked stations from SNJ easily. Alas, it was not meant for me to get a clean sweep! Next year, I'll have a REAL antenna up. My current antenna is an OCF at 15 feet, partly laying on the roof.

Other than to that one elusive section, I thought conditions were excellent, and participation was up from last year. It did take some doing to tear myself away from all the DX that was on 10 meters to work only the US and Canada.

A very special thanks to VE8EV (cute palindrome) for moving from 15 meters to 20!

Folks, you can still have a lot of challenging fun with a marginal antenna and 100 watts (once I remembered to change from 30 watts). I LOVE this hobby!
