My buddy Scott, NN2V, and I have been working this contest since 1992! We've worked a lot of clean sweeps over the years, but this was especially fun because my 10 year old son, Matt, got in on the act!

Matt worked the radio controls (tuning, voice keyer, etc) and beam headings; he even got up the nerve to work a contact himself. And who did he contact? Sean Kutzko, KX9X - the ARRL Contest Manager! Sean couldn't have been nicer and more understanding of a kid getting on the air during a contest. This morning my son was asking all sorts of good questions about the contest, and he's now interested in getting his own license! He had a great time and thought it was, "cool!" How much better could it possibly get, right?

We were fortunate enough to work a clean sweep this year. Band conditions were the best I can remember. Working lots of stations on 10 and 15 meters was a treat! This was our highest score ever with 811 stations worked. Thanks to everyone in the contest for making this extra fun this year.
