2012 ARRL International DX Contest (CW)
WOW! I can't believe they actually heard me. The highlight of this contest was working 8 stations, 7 new DXCC entities for me, on 80m. The antenna pictured is the one used on 80m - a homebrewed, near-bottom loaded vertical with too few radials - that has been up since June '11. If you're in my log for 80m, then your 80m antenna is doing a great job. I keep adding radials but I'm limited for space and can't lay them 360 degrees around the antenna...so thanks for having awesome antennas on 80m and being able to hear my QRP signal.
This was my best DX contest effort since being QRV from Albany, NY in March '06 - claiming 297 Q's and 157 multipliers with 68 unique DXCC entities. There were some quiet times but it seemed like wherever I tuned, there was someone new to call. Thanks to everyone that put me in their log - in some cases your patience in copying my call and exchange is very much appreciated. It would be great if there was a way to give stations more points for working those of us that are QRP.
My log has been uploaded to LoTW and eQSL. I hope you'll do the same.
A special thank you to the ARRL for organizing such a great event! Looking forward to next year...with more radials under that 80m vertical. 73, Will, NQ2W
