2012 ARRL June VHF Contest
A rare family getaway weekend kept me out of the shack but wanting to take advantage of recent conditions, I decided to pack the QRP gear and attempt a modest rover operation. We were, after all, crossing through five grid squares on the drive and if nothing else I might be able to hand out a rare grid to some. As tricky as VHF is, it's even tougher to make QSOs with only 5 watts and a rooftop whip - you have to be in the right place at the right time. While I heard plenty of stations, I could only make contact with a few, most being from my driveway once we got back home. I even worked a couple new grids.
