I read about Field Day in QST as a Novice in the late 60's--thinking how much fun that would be.  40 years later, I finally got to be part of it!  A beautiful day in San Diego above an inland lake set the stage for a near flawless experience (my tuner was finicky at times). Many visitors and questions about amateur radio throughout the day, night and next morning.  Erected a 6m Yagi for the first time, also.  There's no limit to what can be learned and experienced with this hobby...I'm already looking forward to next year!
