2012 ARRL Field Day
GARS Does Field Day 2012 in a Big Way!
We had a great time at GARS Field Day. It was a fun 30 hours or so. Weather was a little on the warm side, but we had plenty of fans and cold water. David, KA4KKF had all his plans in place and started us getting things setup around 8:30 just after breakfast on site. Wire antennas for 80,40(3),20(4),15(2) were hung high in the tall trees surrounding the park. We also had a couple verticals and two yagis. Then there was the Satellite Station. It was a little separated from the main shelter to get best star gaxing capabilities.
I didn't see a count, but it seemed we had more operators than in previous years. We did a much better job of keeping operators behind the mic or key. There were several noteable operators or operator logger teams. I'm sure these details will be processed and released in the next few days.
