Sweeps is always my favorite event of the year, looked forward to with great anticipation.  In 2010, I had finally gotten tired of coming up just short as an "A" entry and so went "U" to try to pick up the Sweep - successfully I might add.

Last year I was unable to participate and so this year it was back to the roots as an "A" entry with a single OCFD windom for the antenna.  In the past, with only about an hour and a half of daylight Saturday at kickoff, I would work 10 and 15 a little, then migrate to 40 and on to 80, working the close-in stuff till late in the night, then try to fill in the west on Sunday.

This year, I tried a different strategy, trying to fill as much of the map west as possible first, then attack the close-in stuff Sunday.  This worked very well.  I went with a minimal Q strategy, working almost all S&P.  Got NT and PAC early and by bed time Sat had a very respectable fill on the map to the west.  Then just to fill in what was left of the west and most of the east on Sunday.  Last two sections where SFL and SNJ, with SNJ going in the log just before 2200 UTC Sunday.

Had a blast as usual and thinks to all the OMs and YLs that pulled my 100w out of the piles!
