How did I ever make hundreds on contacts in the early '70s using only a handful of xtals and a 3 band HW-16 transceiver?  For SKN 2013, I used only that equipment with a J-38 key, but had a great time.  Four contacts are in the log: WA0WNV (Ron) in Hoyt Lakes, MN on 15m; W6JHQ (Tom) in Pinon Hills, CA on 40m; W8KA (Frank) in Ventura, CA and N5PIR (John) in San Antonio, TX on 15m.  All contacts were thoroughly enjoyable.  Cards are in the mail, guys.  Thanks and 73.  I love starting out the ham year with SKN on Jan 1.
