My favorite contest and a great time to get the station ready for the big Sept and January events.  This year I had a late start due to an out of town funeral but tried to catch up to no avail.  Had half the score from last year.  Guess late start is bigger effect than I anticipated.  Some of the expected stations were not on the air, or at least not to my ears.

I tried some new things this year with a dedicated SDR for the microwave bands.  This didn't work as I expected.  Had more than expected program stoppages and some unexpected lockups of programs.  The normal microwave IF radio somehow was not connected to the higher bands, this could have contributed to only one contact on 5.7 and few on 10g.  None on 24 and 47.

Nevertheless I love this contest for it's duration.  24 hours seems to me to be the perfect length for a single person to endure operating.  We'll see how I do this fall with the 48 hour DX contests :-)
