Kid's Day at N8MR

After months of seeing me operate on the radio, I decided to see if Sophia would get on the air herself. ARRL Kid's Day was perfect for that experiment.

Three-year-old Sophia made two contacts during the waning minutes of the event (Jerry, KC8NZL in FL and Tas, K8TAS in Romulus). Too bad I didn't think of starting this earlier in the day. She was so excited to make the QSOs that she wanted to keep talking to people on the air. I found W1AW/4 on 160 Meters Phone and she got in a QSO that way. Then I found them on 80 Meters CW. I programmed the keyer to send my callsign with the press of one button and send the exchange "TU 5NN MI" with another button. So with a little prompting, she made her first CW QSO as well.
