This was my first ARRL contest on my own, I've only participated in the 2015 Field Day with my RACES team. It's also the first contest after passing my General exam. Fortunately for me, I was limited to the bands the I have on my HT. So I set up my station on my back deck, erected the 2m/70cm vertical dipole I made and started calling CQ. My only mistake that day was starting a day late! I worked the airwaves for about an hour or two but found no other contesters. I did speak to a few local repeaters, though, just to see if I was making it out there. Fun day in all, will definitely be ready for next year.
