I had a lot of fun, setting up the MFJ9406 portable radio in the back yard and throwing the home made dipole into my birch tree.  I used the battery from the lawn tractor and listened much more than I transmitted  I did not take win a plaque but I did manage to win the Portable Opps Midwest Division.
