09/27/2018 | N6RMJ

This was a different contest for me, as I have been working on both my home station and my portable/rover station, improving them

Saturday of the first weekend I stayed at home to try my home station, 4ft dish at 30ft , 10 watts and az/el control, it worked very good working stations at 392 km, not bad,

Sunday of the first weekend , it's time to play with improved  rover setup, 30inch dish and 10watts, optimized feed horn and waveguide, thanks to WA6JBD MEL, made 4 stops in the local desert area around my QTH, working stations as far out as 375km
1st weekend  80 Qso's, 34 Unique calls, 392km Max distance

2nd weekend,
Set out to work from the central valley of California , starting in CM97kh wanted to be on the air at 6am when the contest starts to take advantage of the early morning enhanced propagation , now if I can only get people to get up and turn there radio on

My longest contact of the contest CM97kh to DM12ju AF6NA AT  610km,  ,
worked Brian 3 times in the second weekend for an average distance of 541km, very happy with these results
