Father Maximilian Maria Kolbe, OFM -SP3RN gave his life so another prisoner could live at Auschwitz Concentration Camp on 14 August 1941. He operated between 1938 and 1940 at his large monastery at Niepokalanow, Poland. His radio operations were at the monastery in Poland and the community at Mugnzai No Sono in Nagasaki, Japan.
