2009 DXCC Yearbook Final Reminder
Dec 16, 2009 12:41 ET
Bill Moore, NC1L
Just a last-minute final reminder that if you have not made your 2009 submission you must make a submission in order to appear in the next yearbook. The submission must be postmarked on or by December 31, 2009.
If you are current on the DXCC Honor Roll (minimum of 329 "current" DXCC entities) you will automatically be listed and you DO NOT need to make a submission. However, if you are not current on the Honor Roll you must make a submission in order to be listed.
Also, in order for an award to appear in the Annual List, first the award must be "active" (Meaning you must have a certificate). Just qualifying for an award does not mean it will appear. Also, for an active award to appear your total on that category MUST increase by at least one point. (eg: If you had 300 in 2008 for 10 Meters and in 2009 your number remaining at 300, the 10 meter listing will not appear in the Annual List. But, if your number increased to, at least 301, then your active award will appear.
Also, only ARRL members (during the 2009 calendar year) receive the free copy. (The cost of the yearbook is to be determined soon).
The 2009 DXCC Yearbook will now be handled as an official ARRL publication that will no longer be handled by the DXCC Branch directly. Orders for the yearbook will now be available only via the ARRL catalog. (This will not affect those who qualify for the free copy).

WH2X Remote Operation
Nov 18, 2009 08:42 ET
Bill Moore, NC1L
There were questions recently about WH2X in Guam about his remote station so his operation was placed on hold pending a review.
Our review determined that the WH2X remote station meets the conditions of DXCC rule 9 so it is OK for DXCC credit.
There were only 7 stations who actually had this operation rejected in their DXCC and all QSOs have now been restored.
Contacting DXCC is not needed to resolve the rejected credits and all future credits will be handled properly.

7O1YGF reminder
Nov 11, 2009 10:14 ET
Bill Moore, NC1L
This is a reminder that free update for 7O1YGF Yemen cards will expire on December 31, 2009. Starting January 1, 2010 normal submission fees will apply.
If you are planning to submit an update for this operation I strongly recommend that you do not wait for the last minute as mail around the holiday season is very heavy and delays can occur.
All DXCC needs is the card and SASE, or, in LoTW do an application with just 7O1YGF and remember to select payment by mail on Part four and leave the paper QSO number at zero on Part two.

DXCC year-end submissions
Nov 5, 2009 07:01 ET
Bill Moore, NC1L
This is a reminder that the cut off date to have submissions in for the 2009 DXCC Annual and Honor Roll Listings is December 31, 2009. Applications must be postmarked by this date.
December is expected to be a heavy period so applicants are encouraged not to wait until the last minute to get their submissions in. Also, with the holiday season approaching mail handling will sharply increase.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to check the "List of DXCC Applications Received" link on the DXCC web site to assure that their applications were logged in for 2009. With the mail being heavy in DXCC last minute applications received after December 31 may get logged in for 2010. Also, the USPS postmarks are often unreadable so this could also affect last minute submissions. If you find on this page that your 2009 submission was logged in for 2010, you must contact DXCC by February 1, 2010 to get this corrected. DXCC is not responsible for 2009 applications that are logged in for 2010 after February 1, 2010.
We expect for December that the turnaround will increase in excess of 12 weeks. This is normal for this time of year and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to get all 2009 applications completed.
The 2009 DXCC Yearbook is expected to be in the mail by late May or early June 2010. Please remember that in order to receive the free copy you must:
Be a member of ARRL
Submit an application within the 2009 calendar year, or
Be current on the DXCC Honor Roll (329 current entities or higher)
If you did not qualify for the yearbook, copies will be avaliable from the ARRL catalog
