Special Dayton Hamvention Card Checking Information:

DXCC card checking will be done at the Dayton Hamvention. Card checking will occur during all hours of operation at Hamvention on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Many hams travel from around the world and this is a busy event for card checking. Please remember these tips that will help you and the card checkers through the process, avoid delays and allow us to serve everyone:

Preparation:

THERE IS A 120 CARD LIMIT PER APPLICANT

Make sure that your cards are in proper order. Band first, then mode. Cards with multiple QSOs at the end;

The order on the record sheet MUST match the order of the cards;

The latest forms are on the DXCC web site at:www.arrl.org/awards/dxcc;

Have all paperwork completed before you come to the table;

Make sure everything is legible;

List only QSOs you want credit for;

If you plan to do a Hybrid application (paper application with Logbook of The World) you should do the LoTW portion just prior to leaving for Dayton.

Card checkers will be checking cards for the following awards:

DXCC

Worked All States (WAS)

VHF/UHF Century Club (VUCC)

Worked All Continents (WAC)

When you arrive:

Take a number;

Stay in line;

Make note of anything important to the card checker before they start;

When finished, the card checker will review any problems with you;

Stay with the card checker until completion;

If you are a vendor you can drop your application to a checker and return later for pickup.

Upon Completion:

The card checker will return your cards to you;

DXCC will not take cards back with them;

The card checker will advise you of the final fees upon completion of your application;

Payment is due upon completion of your application;

Payment methods:

Credit Card or Cash (US or Euro only)

Check (from USA bank only)

Money Order (US and International OK)

DXCC cannot bill you

Please see rule 15 for the latest fee information

If possible, please bring with you a copy of your last credit slip.

Again remember, if you are doing a hybrid application, LoTW plus cards, be sure you do the LoTW element prior to leaving for Hamvention.

St Barthelemy

Apr 3, 2008 14:23 ET
Bill Moore, NC1L

In follow up to the January 21, 2008 DXCC blog entry regarding St Barthelemy, DXCC has completed processing 2007 applications and St Barthelemy has now been added to the DXCC computer system, and, LogBook of The World.

This moves the #1 Honor Roll position to 338 current entities making entry level Honor Roll 329.

While DXCC has completed 2007 applications there are a number of application returns still being mailed so it may be another 2-3 weeks before applicants receive their 2007 return.

Lastly, Logbook of The World is now accepting certificate requests for St Barthelemy, and once those logs are submitted the matches should occur and applicants can claim DXCC credit.

For programmers who use the DXCC entity numbering system, the entity code for St Barthelemy is 516.
