Notes from W1AW's Field Day 2008 operation
Uh oh! - What happened to the Friday June 27, 8 PM EDT CW Field Day Bulletin?
Jun 28, 2008 07:57 ET
Joseph P Carcia III, NJ1Q
Ahhhh! Field Day morning! The Sun is shining! The coffee is hot. The bands are...well..doing what bands do at this stage of the Cycle! And, what better way to start the day than to find that we suffered a minor "disk crash" last night, thus no Field Day bulletin!
Yeehaa! :-(
Yep, not even we are safe from the effects of Murphy! (Just take a look at what happened last year: http://www.arrl.org/blog/Field%20Day%202007 )
So to those hams who were waiting for the 8 PM CW Field Day Bulletin, I humbly apologize for the inconvenience.
Please know that everything is back up and running today, and that the transmissions will go on as scheduled!
Whut cood possebly goa rong?
(I just jinxed myself, didn't I??)
73,
One whole day left to go...and counting!

CQ FD CQ FD CQ FD...
Hey all!
Getting ready for FIELD DAY 2008! Yeah!
As has become the "norm" during big operating events at W1AW, we'll be maintaining a blog during the activity. (Or, at least trying to, anyway!)
What can you expect on this blog? Hilarious videos. Pictures. Silly antics. Greetings. I just *don't* know! :-)
But please watch this space...
BTW, for those of you who will be copying the W1AW Field Day Bulletin, the schedule can be found here: http://www.arrl.org/w1aw/2008-arlx006.html
Rules can be found here: http://www.arrl.org/contests/rules/2008/fd.html
Thanks again to the fine operators of the Maritime Radio Historical Society (K6KPH) for helping us out by sending the W1AW Field Day Bulletin for the benefit of hams out in the West and for those who may not be able to copy us. (But I'm running 1 kW on every band!!!!)
Catch you later!

Joe, NJ1Q
