Additional Information: Details for registering for this class, class location & class days and time are found at https://k4lrg.org/education.html Students are required to obtain the ARRL Extra Class license manual, 11th edition. Pre-study Chapters 1, 2, 3, & 10 prior to first class. The LARG Education Committee plans to hold a series of six weekly class sessions plus a testing date for the Extra Class Amateur Radio License starting on Thursday, February 15th, 2018, for persons holding the General or Advanced Class Amateur Radio License. We expect that students will have mastered the material for the Technician and General class license prior to taking this class. The class sessions will be held on Thursdays from 6 to 9 PM at the Leesburg VFW Hall, 401 Old Waterford Road. The license examination session will be held on Saturday, March 24th, 2018, after the last Thursday class session on March 22nd, 2018. Experienced Radio Amateurs will give students the information needed to be able to pass the Extra Class license test, plus additional information about Amateur Radio culture & operating practices. Registration for the class will begin on 20 January 2018 and will close on 8 February 2018. Registration and fee sent by mail must be postmarked by that date. Registration forms and fee must be received by 12 February 2018. Register early as class size will be limited. If the class size is exceeded we will put you on a waiting list and contact you if a slot becomes available. You must purchase, and have in your possession, the ARRL Extra Class license manual for the class prior to the start of classes. You can purchase it from the ARRL or another outlet that sells them. Be sure to buy the latest edition (11th edition). Students should pre-study Chapters 1, 2, 3, & 10 prior to the first class. Registering for the Class: Register for the class by printing the registration form and completing it (the link is found below). The fee for the course is $20.00 which will be applied to the license testing session if the student completes the licensing class.
