RAE board of directors -- signing of the lease for Emergency Operations Center |
The Radio Association of Erie has had an interesting and busy year. We have been involved in a couple of major activities this year. We were required to move our main club 2 meter repeater, W3GV from its former site to the site of our secondary repeater. In addition to this a Voter system of remote receivers have been installed in the surrounding Erie County area to enhance coverage for our ARES -- Skywarn group and general 2 meter communications in the area.
We also have signed a lease agreement with Erie County Government leasing their former Emergency Operations Center to be used as a location of additional repeaters and a place to hold many club activities.

The club members have provided communications for many charitable organizations events, Erie Airport disaster drill, and others. We were a participant in JOTA 2000 using a new format, where Scout groups from the area came to one central site, which was the French Creek Counsel Headquarters in Erie. The driving force behind this was Bernie Fuller, N3EFN. fellow Radio Association of Erie Club member, and Director of the Atlantic Division of ARRL.
It was a very rewarding year for all of us at the Radio Association of Erie.
