The ARRL Field Day information page has Field Day rules, frequencies, forms, pins, logos and T shirts. The complete Field Day packet can be downloaded from the site as well.
ARRL has put together a Station Locator to help amateurs or others interested in Amateur Radio find a Field Day site near them.
ARRL Georgia section officials and other hams assisted in the wake of severe tornadoes that struck Atlanta and other parts of the state March 7-8.
ARRL DXCC Manager Bill Moore, NC1L, reports that the following DXpeditions have been approved for DXCC credit: the 2008 VP6DX DXpedition to Ducie Island, the 2008 TX5C DXpedition to Clipperton Island, the 2007 ZL1GO/8 DXpedition to Kermadec Island and the 2007 3C7Y DXpedition to Equatorial Guinea.
The ARRL Executive Committee met in Memphis, Tennessee March 15.
The May 2008 issue of QST was released to the printer.
The winner of the QST Cover Plaque Award for February is Larry Scheff, W4QEJ, for his article "Lightning: Understand It or Suffer the Consequences -- Part 1." The March winner is Dick Jansson, KD1K, for his article "HF Antennas and Restricted Living."
The March and April issues of CONTACT! for public relations volunteers have been posted.
Registration remains open through April 20 for these online course sessions beginning May 2. Technician License Course (EC-010); Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Level 1 (EC-001); Radio Frequency Interference (EC-006); Antenna Design and Construction (EC-009); Analog Electronics (EC-012), and Digital Electronics (EC-013).
Two new instructors will take part in this year's ARRL Teachers Institute: Miguel Enriquez, KD7RPP, and Nathan McCray, K9CPO.
An invaluable ARRL consultant to WARC-79, Merle Glunt, W3OKN, of Mount Union, Pennsylvania, died March 16.
The ARRL has granted Colvin Awards to three 2008 DXpeditions: The VP6DX Ducie Island DXpedition, the TX5C DXpedition to Clipperton Island and the 9X0R DXpedition to Rwanda.
Materials for the "We Do That -- Radio!" technology campaign are being assembled for the official debut at Hamvention in May.
The 2008-2009 Repeater Directory (both pocket and desktop size) is available for sale.
On the air: International DX Contest (Phone) was March 1-2. Members of the ARRL HQ staff activated NU1AW (in honor of the upcoming World Amateur Radio Day) at Maxim Memorial Station W1AW for the CQ WPX SSB Contest March 29-30.
Staff travel: Sales & Marketing Manager Bob Inderbitzen, NQ1R, took part in AES Superfest 2008 in Milwaukee and spoke at the Milwaukee Radio Amateurs' Club. Regulatory Information Manager Dan Henderson traveled to the North Carolina Section Convention/Charlotte Hamfest March 8-9.
