Getting ready for July 1 General question pool changeover

June 30, 2004 -- Members of the ARRL-VEC staff and other Headquarters staff members pitched in Friday, June 25, and Monday, June 28, to dispatch the mailing of new General class (Element 3) test booklets to ARRL VE teams.

The booklets reflect the revised General class question pool that goes into effect for all Element 3 examinations administered on or after July 1, 2004. ARRL VEC Manager Bart Jahnke, W9JJ, says the booklets went to 822 field-stocked ARRL-VEC volunteer examiners. The Question Pool Committee of the National Conference of Volunteer Examiner Coordinators released a revised and expanded Amateur Radio General class question pool into the public domain last December.

The new Element 3 question pool, which has 432 questions, is available on the ARRL Amateur Exam Question Pools Web page in Adobe PDF and ASCII text format.
