06/27/2006 | NS1RA This will be my third field day. The first was the day I sat for my Tech license. Last year I operated SSB on 80 meters. This year, with great trepidation, I signed up to operate CW, on the night owl shift, no less. I would strongly encourage anyone with any CW ability to jump in and try this. With the encouragement of the CW enthusiasts at the site, and the other stations I contacted with my ten wpm pace,I had a lot of fun. Now I will probably try weekend contesting just to build up my operating skill. Our club was hampered this year by rain and mud, but with the hard work and skill of everyone who pitched in, it was a huge success! -- KB1LLY
