2012 ARRL Kids Day - January
The Kansas wing of kids from the 2012 Youth DX adventure had a great time at the University of Kansas Club station K0KU in Lawrence, KS...burning up the airwaves, working really big pileups, talking to other kids, and elmering 2 new potential hams on how ham radio works, and opening a whole new world to them.
Ryan-KD0EWB & Cameron-K0CAM worked with two new recruits to work more than 130 contacts in about a half a day at the KU club station, using the IC-756 pro III, the Ameritron AL-1500 Amp, and a TH7DXS at 150 ft, as well as the backup station a Kenwood TS-940, Heathkit HL-2200 Amp and R7 vertical.
The kids worked mostly 40m, 20m and 15m, while KD0BNO, KC0BS & AC0CO looked on and smiled at each new contact with young ones on both ends of the QSO.
The kids will complete their activitiy by QSL'ing their contacts. Pse QSL TNX!
