VE9UNB
The call sign VE9UNB is held by Richard Tervo, VE1BMR, who did not participate as an operator in this contest. The licensed participants in this contest were Allen Galloway, VE9AGG, Aaron Farnham, VE9AJF, Brandon Brown, VE9BWB, Chris Rouse, VE9CDR, Colin Ingalls, VE9CJI, Chelsi Doyle, VE9DOY, Gleb Egorov, VE9EG, Brent Petersen, VE9EX, Fred Goora, VE9FGO, Keelen Gagnon, VE9KKG, Sameh Elnaggar, VE9SYN, Asif Hasan, VE9XAN, and Rob Snell, VE9YAC. Under the direct supervision of operators with HF privileges were Tristan Losier, VE9TRL, Yousef Alomar, Jacob Delisle, and Oussama Dehimi. Thank you Tristan for helping with some of the unpopular operating times. I thank Martin Hann, VE9PLS, for his help with the preparations, but regret the circumstances which prevented his participation during the event. The antenna improvements were made possible by Ryan Jennings, VE9AAK, Kevin Hanscom, VE9KH, and the staff of the University of New Brunswick (UNB). The VE9UNB operators included Team IsoTropic Thunder, VE9BWB, VE9CDR, and VE9FGO, the winners of the 2011 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Student Design Contest. Jon Dueck, VE9JTD, dropped by for a moment to observe; thank you. Bob Kavanagh, VE3OSZ, provided me with the year the UNB club was formed. It was an excellent experience as two people had their first QSOs ever, three other people had their first HF QSOs in over a year, and ten participants got licensed only in the year 2013. Finally, I thank the contacted operators of our QSOs for their patience with the VE9UNB operators. It was reported to me how helpful the other amateur radio operators were, over the air, during the contest. 73 Brent VE9EX. I do want to say thanks for the time and effort that you provided. It really wouldn't have happened without your help and oversight. 73 Martin VE9PLS. -- VE9EX
