2014 ARRL Straight Key Night
The 80 and 40 meter bands were alive with a signals on almost every frequency in the CW subands during the first hours of SKN. It was like old times hearing all the straight keys. My first key was a J-47 I used in 1955 licensed as KN9EUV. I recorded several contacts and sent them by E-Mail to my contacts. I worked one station using a ARC 5 transmitter and matching receiver. It was like out of the past hearing that transmitter chirping away. I had sold all my vintage gear many years ago so I was limited to my IC-775DSP and IC-746 rigs. I used a J-38 key from my collection of keys and bugs. I would like to see a vintage Bug key night so I can use my WW2 U.S.Army Signal Corps J-38 bug. Thanks to everyone for making this SKN a most memorable event for me,
