For my second SKN I warmed up the Apache and R392 as I had last year. I creaked the Apache's mode switch from AM to CW and tuned up in 80 metres a couple of hours early. W0TDH caught my ID and called so we had a pleasant chat. I found that my little... Read More

I had visions of being a Novice again and it was a nice feeling. My straight key is and has always been my J-38 which I bought when I was 12 years old and love it. It was originally made by the Lionel Train Company for the U.S. government. Wow--did ... Read More

I signed K1Y/0 with the Straight Key Century Club. Made nine contacts in the first two and a half hours. I worked Section, Region, and Area NTS nets with the call and my straight key. Boy, are they confused! Jim, N0JL Read More

Again I took part in SKN and enjoyed it very much. I have worked SKN for about 10 years now, but never put in my "Soapbox" comments.

The most fun I've had on the air in a long time. I made 19 SKN QSO's with my vintage HW-16, HG-10B VFO, and J37 straight key with a simple dipole antenna. I even ran into an old friend or two that made it even more special. Don't know about others, but... Read More

I really enjoyed the few contacts I made on SKN, as I didn't have much time. I don't use my straight key that often, but it was a great time! I am a member of SKCC and FISTS and this was so much fun! Can't wait until next year! KJ7UN Read More

What fun on SKN. The best ragchew was with Mike KF6PVY and a tip of the hat to Gene W7LFC who said I was his first CW contact in 30 years. There was no rust on his key. And thanks to the others who made it a great SKN.
