PALAS - Powerline as an Alternative Local AcceSs project:
Power Line Communications, PLC, is a recent and rapidly evolving technology, aiming at the utilisation of the electricity power lines for the transmission of data. PLC technology opens up new opportunities for the mass provision of local, last- mile access at a reasonable cost. The PALAS project aims to develop and test a complete service and commercialisation package to potential players in the PLC market.
United Powerline Council (UPLC)
The United Power Line Council (UPLC) is an industry consortium of PLC system producers and utility industry customers (and potential customers). They are a child organization of the United Telecom Council. ARRL has established dialogue with UPLC and both the ARRL and UPLC hope that such dialogue will lead to a better understanding and common ground.
Universal Powerline Association
The UPA is an international not-for-profit trade association. The Purpose of the Association is to promote the Powerline Communication technologies and particularly the benefits brought by these technologies for all the relevant applications.
