The ARRL Antenna Book CD

ARRL Publications · Product Notes

See the Installation Notes for help installing the ARRL Antenna Book CD, particularly under WINDOWS VISTA.

The ARRL Antenna Book CD (Version 2.0)

1. The installation instructions printed in the leaflet at the front of the CD-ROM say to install the companion utility software from the wrong subdirectory. The user should click on the executable file "ABSetup.exe" in the root directory of the CD-ROM.

2. The instructions for the companion utility software are included in the Adobe Reader file "AB19Software.PDF" (198,151 bytes).

3. Some users have received a warning message about "OLEAUT32.DLL" while installing the software because this file is already in use by Windows. The best response is to click on the "Cancel" button in the warning box. The correct file will be installed the next time the computer boots up. (This procedure is described more fully in the AB19Software.PDF [198,151 bytes] documentation file.)

Note: The AB19Software.PDF file mentioned above is also included in the CD

4. fig6tab.pdf and fig6tab.zip were inadvertently left off of the ARRL Antenna Book CD 2.0. You can download both files in fig6.zip (65,536 bytes).

For the printed book and the CD-ROM Version 2.0

A programming error crept into one of the 539 elevation statistics files used with the YT program. Attached is a new W4-GA-EU.PRN file.
