    From Jim N5NVP: At the end of November the Louisiana Section had 35 Active Affiliated Clubs and 9 of those were Active Affiliated Special Service Clubs (SSCs). There are 23 Inactive Affiliated Clubs. Thanks to all the club officers who updated their portion of the ARRL Club "Big List".

    LOUISIANA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: The window for application for the scholarship is about to close for this year. Please encourage any licensed entering or attending college student to apply for this scholarship. Details are available on the ARRL Website.

    TEMPORARY SECTION TRAFFIC MANAGER - Due to Mike W5PY's illness, Carlos Ingram KB5YEG of Rayville has volunteered to temporarily assume Mikes duties as STM and Louisiana Traffic Net Manager. Mike also sent letters with ARRL applications to new Amateurs in the Section. Herman Campbell KN5GRK of Lafayette has volunteered to fill for Mike on that. Many thinks to Carlos and Herman for volunteering to do this.

    LOUISIANA SECTION MEMBER IN THE NEWS - Check the January of CQ Magazine on page 60 for a great article titled "Teaching the Teachers". It features Orleans Parish EC Joel Colman NO5FD with a description of his work with the kids at the Henry S. Jacobs camp in Utica, Mississippi. Great work Joel!

    LOUISIANA SECTION WEBSITE - Check the website www.laarrl.org for a survey on 97.113. Cast your vote based upon your opinion.

    DELTA DIVISION HAM OF THE YEAR - Look for an announcement soon from Mickey Cox K5MC concerning the selection of the Division Ham of the Year. Another surprise may be forthcoming.
